The Udder Farm Shop is a family-run business located on the edge of the Blackmore Vale near Gillingham, Dorset. Founded in 2005 by farmers Jane and Brian Down, whose family has been farming in the village since 1938, our mission is to provide delicious, locally sourced food while supporting and promoting local suppliers. We offer a wide range of products from Dorset and the surrounding counties, including our very own home-reared meat.

By selling our meat in-store and serving it in our restaurant, we offer an alternative to supermarket shopping and ensure our customers can be part of the entire process from pasture to plate. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff are dedicated to creating an enjoyable shopping experience and are always on hand to provide expert advice on our produce. In addition to our farm shop, we also have a restaurant and coffee shop.

In 2019, we expanded our coffee shop to include a spacious and bright dining area with a wrap-around bar, giving our customers more space and seating options. We continuously strive to improve and expand our facilities while maintaining our relaxed and independent shopping atmosphere and our personal and friendly service. To meet the needs of our customers during the Covid-19 pandemic, we launched an online ordering platform and home delivery service in 2020.

We take pride in offering traceable meat at competitive prices, and our meat boxes and grocery services are available to local customers through van delivery or collection, as well as national delivery by courier. At Udders, we also offer hampers and local products that are hard to find outside of Dorset. We are excited to welcome you to our farm shop soon and hope you enjoy your visit
