About The Usawa Institute
The Usawa Institute is a brand dedicated to creating a more equitable future. With a focus on empowering women and girls, they offer a range of programs and initiatives that enhance economic and social status, improve employment prospects, and promote gender equality.
One of their flagship programs is Girls Speak Out (GSO), a coding, media, and advocacy after-school training program for girls aged 14 to 24 in urban communities across Zimbabwe. They also offer Power Classes 4 Women (PC4W), a capacity-building program designed for women running small community-based businesses and organizations. Their Community Leadership Program (#USAWACLP) is a 10-week practical and authentic approach to leading and managing sustainable non-profit organizations and social impact businesses.
The Usawa Institute also supports the development of female-run social-impact businesses and grassroots community-based non-profit ventures, helping them to be sustainable and grow. They provide advocacy and research with a feminist perspective to advocate against discriminatory laws and policies, while contributing to the strengthening of gender equality legislation.
If you are interested in getting involved, you can volunteer your time and skills or make a donation. The Usawa Institute believes in collaborations and strategic partnerships to empower African girls and women. Join them in their mission towards a more equal society.
