The Water Forum

An Fóram Uisce, also known as the National Water Forum, is Ireland's premier statutory body dedicated to enhancing stakeholder engagement in water policy and management. Established to advise the Minister on water-related matters, the Forum represents a diverse coalition of 27 members from 16 sectors, including agriculture, environment, fisheries, and tourism. This inclusive approach ensures that a wide array of perspectives are considered when shaping policies aimed at safeguarding Ireland’s vital water resources.

The Forum's mission encompasses a variety of functions, including policy development, research, and education. By leveraging scientific data and expert insights, it fosters dialogue and cooperation among stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions for water conservation and quality. An Fóram Uisce actively communicates its findings through workshops, webinars, and publications, providing valuable resources to enhance public awareness and understanding of water challenges. Ultimately, the Forum strives to bolster democratic input in water governance, ensuring this precious natural asset is preserved for future generations.
