The Weathering Works

The Weathering Works is a specialist model railway business offering custom weathering services and selling uniquely weathered models in a range of gauges. Its aim is to give model trains and rolling stock a more realistic, lived-in appearance, recreating the dirt and wear that develop during everyday railway service.

Customers can send in their own models to be weathered according to their preferences. The service ranges from light dusting for stock that appears relatively new to heavily weathered finishes featuring grime, chipped paint and faded surfaces. Techniques and materials are selected to create effects such as track dirt and exhaust residue. The business works on steam and diesel locomotives, wagons and other railway vehicles, with dedicated information for N gauge and O gauge weathering.

The Weathering Works also sells finished weathered stock through its website and eBay, with direct purchasing available by contacting the business. Service pricing is listed on its weathering service page, and customers can get in touch by email with questions or enquiries.
