The Wild Flower Society

The Wild Flower Society is a national society for amateur botanists and wild flower lovers in Britain and Ireland. Its aim is to help people find, enjoy and learn about wild plants. During spring, summer and early autumn, the Society organises field meetings, where local leaders guide walks through natural habitats and introduce participants to the plants growing there. Members can also take part in online meetings, plant hunts, field surveys, an annual photo competition and other activities, including opportunities for junior members.

The Society supports botanical learning through educational resources, slide shows, useful links and its magazine. It also has local society branches and offers grants, including support connected with the flora of Teesdale. Its calendar features field meetings and other events, alongside the Annual Members’ Meeting and AGM. The Wild Flower Society shares news about members, awards and wild-flower conservation, and publishes a newsletter with updates on outings, online meetings and Society activities. Non-members may sign up for mailing updates, while participation in online meetings requires membership.
