The Woodlands, is a dynamic community located within a natural forest, north of Houston, Texas and is home to 120,000 residents, 34 schools, more than 150 parks, more than 220 miles of pathways, over 4,000 acres of open space and over 1,800 acres of forest preserve. The Woodlands was founded in 1974 by George P. Mitchell and formation of The Woodlands Township occurred in 2010 with the merger of the Community Associations of The Woodlands, Texas and its entities with the Town Center Improvement District (TCID) of Montgomery County.

About The Woodlands Township
The Woodlands Township, located in The Woodlands, TX, is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors. This dedicated board is elected by the community to serve two-year staggered terms. As the legislative body, they set policy and approve the budget for the township.
The Directors, all residents of The Woodlands, volunteer their time and expertise to ensure the smooth functioning of the township. Led by Dr. Ann K.
Snyder as Chairman, the Board of Directors also includes Kyle Watson as Vice Chairman, Linda Nelson as Secretary, Richard Franks as Treasurer, Brad Bailey as Director, Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs as Director, and Bob Milner as Director.
