The Zipper

The Zipper is a community-focused arts and entertainment festival in Columbia, Missouri, created to encourage human connection and help combat social isolation and loneliness. More than a craft and arts fair, it brings people together to meet, share experiences, and support local creativity. The free-to-attend Zipper Fest features crafters and artists from Missouri and beyond, offering affordable handmade items for purchase. Visitors can also enjoy free live music and entertainment, interactive art installations designed by local artists, and food and drinks from nearby businesses, restaurants, and food trucks.

The festival’s program combines craft, art, music, food, and drink in an inviting setting where attendees can connect with friends or meet someone new. The fourth annual Zipper Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1 to 7 p.m. on the 600 block of Fay Street in Columbia. The Zipper also welcomes participation through vendor applications, art installation submissions, nonprofit involvement, sponsorship, and volunteering.
