TOPAZ

TOPAZ is a Czech think tank and public-discussion platform focused on strengthening democracy, civic society and informed policymaking. Its academic team, working with Czech and international experts, examines current social and political issues, identifies emerging trends and develops proposals for practical, sustainable responses. TOPAZ shares its work through policy papers, studies, books, specialist collections and bulletins, and presents publications at the Svět knihy book fair.

The organisation also hosts conferences, public debates and round tables in the Czech Republic and Brussels, bringing experts and members of the public together to explore pressing issues and new perspectives. Its educational activities include training, workshops and seminars for both the public and professionals, including beginning and experienced politicians. TOPAZ further recognises achievement through the Karel Schwarzenberg Prize for outstanding student research and the TOPAZ Award for Public Responsibility, which honours contributions to public life, democratic institutions, human rights and responsible civic engagement. Through research, discussion and education, TOPAZ aims to support democratic development and help shape responses to contemporary challenges.
