Thirroul Butchers

Thirroul Butchers is the name of Thirroul Rugby League Football Club, a community club based at Thomas Gibson Park in Thirroul, next to the train station. With a history spanning generations, the club says more than 4,000 players have worn its blue jumper, supported by officials, volunteers, sponsors, members and local supporters. Its activities centre on rugby league, with teams including First Grade and Under-18s, and the club shares team lists, registration information, awards and updates about its players and season.

The Butchers also bring their community together through events such as season launches, presentation nights and a Sportsman’s Luncheon. Club membership, sponsorship and registration opportunities help people take part and support the organisation. The club’s home ground, Thomas Gibson Park, received upgraded facilities in 2026, including team change rooms, a referees’ room, a first-aid room, accessible and ambulant toilets, and canteen facilities. Through sport, events and community involvement, Thirroul Butchers provides a gathering point for players and supporters connected to the club.
