The Autism Foundation International (TAFI) is a community-based organization established in 2016 with the aim of raising awareness about the challenges faced by children with autism spectrum disorders. Our mission is to provide support and care to these children, allowing them to lead fulfilling lives by accessing educational, recreational, spiritual, and intellectual opportunities. We also offer psycho-social support to parents who often face societal stigmatization.

Located in Ongata Rongai, Nairobi, Kenya, our center provides care for 100 children and accommodates 15-25 children on weekdays and 10-15 children on weekends and during school holidays. Our primary beneficiaries are children living with autism in Kware, Bangladesh, and Gataka slums. We are expanding our services to include children from all over Kajiado and Nairobi counties.

TAFI was founded by Margaret Njeri, who was inspired by her own personal experiences. Despite being told her daughter may never lead a normal life, Margaret refused to give up. Today, she takes care of over 85 mothers with special children and is committed to creating a safe space for children living with autism spectrum disorders.

Our values of compassion, integrity, accountability, efficiency, and commitment guide everything we do. We believe in the power of community support, which is why we have launched the Single Dollar Autism Campaign to encourage individuals, companies, and organizations to contribute as little as a dollar to support our various interventions.
