Thrane Jacobsen

Thrane-Jacobsen. dk is the personal website of Steen Thrane Jacobsen, featuring his writing about small projects, tools, and subjects that have caught his interest. Rather than presenting a commercial brand or a broad service offering, the site serves as a straightforward collection of personal notes, practical guides, and lightweight web tools.

Its sections include genealogy, with information and helper programs for family-history research, and a daylight tool that displays sunrise and sunset times in a graph. The writing also documents technical projects and decisions. One article explains why Jacobsen keeps website design and development deliberately simple, using plain HTML, a small CSS file, and no frameworks to make the site easier to understand and maintain.

Another provides a step-by-step account of setting up free hosting with Azure Static Web Apps, including deployment through GitHub Actions, domain configuration, and SSL. Together, the site’s content offers readers useful, personal insights into genealogy, web development, hosting, and everyday tools, presented in a clear and uncomplicated format
