Thubutu Africa Initiatives (TAI) is a local non-governmental organization that aims to empower local communities in Tanzania, particularly in the remote rural areas of the Shinyanga Region. Our name, Thubutu, means 'to dare' in Swahili, reflecting our belief that progress comes not from adapting but from daring to be your own change. We recognize that education is crucial for positive development, and that's why we focus on providing opportunities for children and their families to gain knowledge and information.

We believe that education is the key to driving change and improving the well-being of children. Our mission is to help children reach their full potential by educating not only them, but also their parents, caregivers, teachers, and other key influential people in their communities. Currently, our projects include capacity building, social and financial education, menstrual hygiene management, and translation services.

We are committed to empowering women and youth, as we believe they play a crucial role in the progress and growth of Tanzania. While our ultimate goal is to serve rural Tanzania as a whole, we are currently primarily active in the Shinyanga Rural and Kishapu districts, as well as Shinyanga Municipal. These districts have a population of approximately 1.

6 million people, many of whom still have limited access to facilities and services. As we continue to grow, we plan to expand our activities to other districts within the Shinyanga region. By providing education and knowledge, we aim to create a safe and healthy environment where children can thrive and communities can flourish
