Thula Thula Private Game Reserve is a wildlife sanctuary in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Described as the province’s oldest private game reserve, it spans 4,500 hectares of riverine bush, savanna and forest and is dedicated to conserving and protecting endangered wildlife. The reserve offers a luxury safari experience, with guided game drives led by experienced rangers. Visitors may see elephants, rhinos, buffalo, hippos, hyenas and leopards, as well as more than 350 bird species.
Guests can choose between the Elephant Safari Lodge, with eight thatched chalets, and the Luxury Tented Camp, which offers an immersive bush setting and welcomes children of all ages. The lodge welcomes children aged 12 and over. Both provide distinctive accommodation, with the reserve highlighting its cuisine and hospitality.
Beyond stays and safaris, Thula Thula offers extra activities, day visits, weddings and conservation experiences. Its initiatives include wildlife rehabilitation, volunteer opportunities, anti-poaching work, habitat expansion and animal adoption programmes.
