Thusanang

Thusanang is a charitable foundation that helps young people in Namibia pursue higher education and train for a profession. Founded by Father Heinz Theo Stens and his former classmates, the organization is built on the idea that lasting support means enabling people to earn a living and contribute to their country’s development. For around 25 years, Thusanang has provided financial assistance to talented students who might otherwise be unable to study. Its support takes the form of study loans, which recipients are encouraged to repay when they have an income, helping sustain assistance for future students and promote mutual responsibility.

In Namibia, the Father Stens Association Thusanang carries out the foundation’s work locally. Its board selects students, administers funds, distributes scholarships and manages repayments. The organization relies on donations and supporters to build the resources needed to help more students begin their studies. Through this community-based approach, Thusanang aims to give young people greater opportunities, even when their families face unemployment, financial hardship or limited access to basic support.
