About Transparency International Bangladesh
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) is the accredited national chapter of Transparency International, an esteemed global anti-corruption organization. TIB is dedicated to fostering a participatory movement against corruption by strengthening accountability through enhanced institutions, laws, and practices. Established in 1996, TIB's core mission is to combat corruption and promote good governance in Bangladesh through meticulous research, public awareness campaigns, and impactful advocacy.
At the heart of TIB's work is the Participatory Action Against Corruption - Towards Transparency and Accountability (PACTA) project. This comprehensive initiative utilizes cutting-edge technology, community engagement, and various anti-corruption activities to empower citizens in the fight against corruption. Under this project, TIB's flagship mobile app, PACTApp, enables volunteer groups to collect real-time data on governance deficiencies via their mobile devices. This robust data collection strengthens TIB's ability to uncover, analyze, and combat corruption, and plays a pivotal role in their advocacy, social engagement, and collaboration with public offices.
In addition to their vital work through PACTA, TIB operates through three core divisions - research, communications, and citizen participation. Through rigorous research efforts, TIB generates knowledge, measures corruption's magnitude, promotes policy reforms, and engages the public. The Committees of Concerned Citizens (CCC) and the Youth Engagement and Support groups (YES) work on a voluntary, non-partisan basis to promote social accountability and raise awareness among young people about ethical values and democratic governance.
TIB's outreach and communication division transforms their research and policy efforts into effective tools for change. Through various communication strategies and partnerships with other organizations, TIB reaches a diverse audience, aiming to promote public understanding of corruption and encourage greater participation in anti-corruption initiatives in Bangladesh.
Join TIB today and contribute to the fight against corruption. Become a member, have your say, and help support vulnerable communities. Visit TIB's website to access research reports, policy briefs, and other resources to stay informed and engaged in the fight against corruption. Together, we can create a more transparent and accountable society.
