Tidcombe Fen

Tidcombe Fen Nature Partnership is a community-focused conservation organization dedicated to protecting Tidcombe Fen, a Site of Special Scientific Interest on the edge of Tiverton in Mid Devon. Working alongside the site’s owners, local people and ecological experts, the partnership manages the fen and surrounding environment for the benefit of wildlife and the public good. Its work aims to maintain and restore habitats, support the diversity of local plants and animals, and safeguard the site for future generations, following guidance from Natural England.

The partnership’s activities include habitat maintenance and restoration, wildlife surveys and monitoring, and practical conservation work led by volunteers, trustees and committee members. It also offers educational sessions, expert-led visits and opportunities for community involvement, including scheduled working parties and occasional open days. These activities raise awareness of environmental stewardship and invite people to contribute to local nature conservation. Tidcombe Fen is private, ecologically sensitive land with no general public access; visits are by guided work activity or special arrangement.
