Tied Zat

Tied Zat is an old-year and activities association serving the villages of Zorgvlied, Wateren and Oude Willem in the Netherlands. Its close-knit team of 11 members, aged between 16 and 45, works to bring energy and sociability to local life through events for residents and people from surrounding villages.

Around New Year, the association stages a traditional stunt to draw attention to current issues affecting the community. This involves borrowing an object or structure without prior arrangement, unveiling it to the village during the New Year period, and returning it to its original location undamaged afterward. Tied Zat also organizes a range of recreational activities throughout the year, including tractor skill events and tours, moped tours, beach volleyball and car-based treasure hunts. Members also help with Wateren’s annual market and Zorgvlied’s ring-jousting event.
