The Tier 1 Hockey Federation (THF) is a USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier I youth hockey league serving competitive and elite clubs across the country. Managed by dedicated hockey professionals, the federation includes more than 200 AAA teams for players aged 9U through 18U. Its unbalanced schedule brings together organizations from multiple states and leagues, creating challenging matchups designed to support competitive play and national rankings.
THF provides league competition and offers optional national showcases to help teams manage scheduling while expanding scouting exposure. Its spring parity event is designed to promote balanced, high-quality competition. The federation is run by rink owners and emphasizes a professional environment, quality on-ice competition, and affordability for players and families.
A distinctive feature is the connection between THF member organizations and junior hockey. Members hold ownership in organizations competing in the USHL, NAHL, NCDC, and USPHL Premier and Elite divisions. This structure gives players access to pathways toward junior and college hockey, including opportunities to pursue NCAA Division I and Division III programs.
