Ein Herz für Tiere

Tierheim Obervintl is an animal welfare organization in Obervintl, in South Tyrol’s Pustertal valley. Run by Verein Tierheim Obervintl EO, the shelter cares for animals in need and has been providing continuous care for its animal residents for 20 years. Its guiding principle is to adapt living conditions to animals’ needs, with their well-being at the heart of its work.

The shelter shares information about animals seeking new homes, including cats, dogs, rabbits and fish, and helps connect them with prospective adopters. Its listings also include privately arranged placements and notices about missing or reunited pets, offering a resource for local animal owners and people looking to adopt. The organization particularly encourages visitors to consider older cats, who can be overlooked despite having much affection to give.

Tierheim Obervintl relies on community support to care for animals and respond to new cases. People can help through donations, including bank transfers and Italy’s five-per-thousand tax contribution, or by joining the team in animal care, cleaning and maintenance.
