About Tierheim Siegen
Tierheim Siegen is a dedicated animal shelter and welfare organization serving Siegen and its surrounding areas. Caring for 250 to 350 animals daily, the shelter houses a diverse collection of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, and even farm animals like goats and chickens. The organization focuses on providing an environment that prioritizes the well-being of these animals, helping to prevent and treat behavioral issues through innovative care practices.
In addition to its vital adoption services, Tierheim Siegen emphasizes community engagement through events like the summer festival and open Sundays, where visitors can enjoy freshly baked waffles and support the shelter through donations and thrift sales. The shelter also runs programs like "Wilde Wiesel," which educates children and youth about animal welfare. With annual operational costs around 600,000 euros, funded largely by memberships and donations, Tierheim Siegen continues to be a cornerstone of animal protection and advocacy in the region, inviting the community to join its efforts in making a difference.
