Tierheim Weidefeld

Tierschutzverein Angeln-Schwansen e.V. operates Tierheim Weidefeld, an animal shelter in Kappeln, Germany, serving the surrounding region. The organization cares for found animals, animals surrendered by their owners, and other animals in need, ranging from small pets and birds to dogs, cats, pigs, and llamas. Its work focuses on animal welfare and helping suitable animals find loving new homes. Some residents, including those who cannot be rehomed, receive long-term care at the shelter.

Prospective adopters can learn about the animals and arrange a personal appointment to meet them. The association also helps people report or locate missing animals and provides information about found animals. Community members can support its work through membership, sponsorships, monetary or in-kind donations, and hands-on volunteering. The shelter shares updates about its animals and activities, and hosts events and gatherings through its Pfotentreff. Tierheim Weidefeld welcomes visitors during its published opening hours and invites people to get involved in giving animals a second chance.
