Tierkompass e.V. is a nonprofit animal welfare association dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need. Its work focuses on dogs from Romanian killing stations, streets and overcrowded shelters, as well as dogs in German animal shelters seeking a fresh start. The association guides each animal from rescue and veterinary care through careful placement into a safe, loving home with responsible, vetted adopters.

Before adoption, dogs receive veterinary examinations, vaccinations, microchips and EU pet passports. Tierkompass arranges regulated transport to Germany and a considered handover to approved families. The adoption process begins with an inquiry and a detailed self-disclosure form, followed by a personal conversation or video call and a home pre-check. If both sides agree, the association prepares a transfer contract and explains the adoption fee and handover arrangements.

Support continues after adoption, with guidance during settling-in and help with registration through TASSO or FINDEFIX. Tierkompass also provides practical resources, including adoption forms, an adoption-process video, and instructions on dog safety in cars and pet registration.
