TierParadiesOdw

TierParadies Odenwald is an animal sanctuary and refuge in Mossautal, in Germany’s Odenwald region, founded by Sabine Gerhard. Established on nearly four hectares of pasture leased in 2018, the sanctuary provides rescued and needy animals with a safe place to live without pressure to perform or generate income. Its residents include horses, dogs and goats. The horses include animals rescued from difficult circumstances, including horses at risk of being sent to slaughter, while the goats were saved from being killed. An open stable hall, completed in 2022, offers shelter and can also provide space for animals needing urgent care.

The sanctuary’s work is guided by a philosophy of allowing animals to live as animals, with attention to their welfare and individual needs. Its website introduces the animals, shares news and stories from daily life, and explains how visitors can support the project. Support opportunities include donations, alongside listed activities and offers that invite people to spend time at the sanctuary.
