Tiger Martial Arts, LLC has taught Uechi Ryu Karate, self-defense, and character education on Whidbey Island since 2005. The school offers programs for children and adults, with instruction designed to support physical fitness, focus, confidence, and personal growth in a safe, upbeat environment.

Little Tigers classes introduce children ages four and five to basic karate through playful activities that develop cooperation, self-control, listening, and concentration. For ages six to thirteen, classes are organized by age and rank and combine self-defense training with lessons in integrity, goal-setting, perseverance, and citizenship. Adults aged fourteen and older study Uechi Ryu, a classical Okinawan style of karate, and work toward black belt status while improving fitness and mental focus.

Students may apply to the Black Belt Club from orange belt; this group emphasizes weapons and leadership. The school also offers sparring for children and adults. Instruction is led by Sensei Wendi Barker, a sixth-degree registered black belt, certified teacher, and renshi with decades of study and teaching experience.
