Tiger of the Snows

Tiger of the Snows Fund is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting outdoor tourism workers and their families. Rooted in the Sherpa community of Nepal, the organization began by helping families of mountain workers who had been injured or killed. Its work has since expanded to communities including Nepal, Tibet, and Tanzania, partnering directly with individuals, families, and trusted local organizations to identify where support is most needed.

The Fund provides education and scholarships for workers’ children and families, including help with school access and tuition. It also supports professional development through technical, medical, language, and guide training, helping outdoor tourism workers strengthen their skills and livelihoods. When injury, death, hardship, or disaster affects a family or community, the organization offers direct assistance and emergency relief.

Its efforts have included supporting children’s education, funding the Khumbu Climbing School, providing training for Himalayan climbing staff, assisting an injured worker’s rehabilitation, and helping families after the loss of a loved one. Donations support these programs and urgent community needs.
