TiKA

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) is Türkiye’s international development cooperation agency, established in 1992 to build partnerships, initially with newly independent Turkic republics and neighboring countries. Today, it works across five continents and reports activity in 170 countries, delivering projects shaped by local priorities and needs. Its approach emphasizes people-centered, transparent and demand-led cooperation, with a focus on practical, equitable and sustainable solutions.

TİKA’s work spans emergency humanitarian assistance, education, health, vocational training, women’s empowerment, agriculture and livestock, clean water and sanitation, energy, cultural cooperation, restoration, media, and civil and administrative infrastructure. Rather than selling consumer products, the agency provides development support through projects, training, equipment and infrastructure improvements. Recent examples include improving access to farmland in the Comoros, supporting coconut oil production in the Philippines, training newborn-health specialists from Laos in Türkiye, and renovating a community kitchen workshop in Mexico to strengthen vocational skills and employment opportunities.
