Timmerdorp Warmenhuizen

Timmerdorp Warmenhuizen is a community-organised summer building event for children in school groups 4 through 8, serving Warmenhuizen and the surrounding Schagen area. Over two active days, children work in supervised groups to build their own wooden huts, learning teamwork and developing practical and technical skills. The programme also offers painting, crafting and decorating, with games and other activities alongside the building. Friday features a shared building-day snack, a visit from the fire brigade, and a chance for families to view the finished huts. In warm weather, water sprayers provide cooling fun.

The event is run with the support of volunteers and sponsors, and adult help is required: a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle must volunteer for at least one day. Participant registration takes place online in spring, is subject to limited capacity, and costs €15 per child. Safety is central, with supervisors on site and permits required before adding a storey to a hut. Timmerdorp Warmenhuizen brings children and local volunteers together for a creative, energetic summer experience.
