About Tiraz
Tiraz is an interactive museum that celebrates and preserves the rich history of Palestinian and Arab costume heritage. With over 2,000 costumes and weavings, the Widad Kawar Collection offers an insight into the diverse stories, traditions, and craftsmanship of the region. The museum curates and exhibits these garments, allowing visitors to experience the beauty and significance of the embroidered patterns firsthand.
Tiraz is not just a space for remembering the past, but also for reviving cultural forms and traditions. Through specialized workshops on embroidery and handicraft techniques, the museum works with local experts and organizations to promote economic viability and mentorship. Additionally, Tiraz aims to communicate the importance of Arab textile heritage both within the Arab world and internationally.
It offers educational programs for schools, universities, and the public, and commissions research and publications on traditional handicrafts. Visit Tiraz to explore a vibrant and intricate form of history unique to Arab culture and universally relevant
