The Titanic Historical Society, Inc. (THS) is a nonprofit organization established in 1963 to preserve and share the history of RMS Titanic, her sister ships Olympic and Britannic, and the White Star Line. Originally founded as the Titanic Enthusiasts of America, the society became the Titanic Historical Society in 1975 and is described as the world’s original and largest Titanic society. Its community includes maritime historians, authors, artists, researchers, and enthusiasts, whose expertise has supported documentaries, investigations, and other projects. THS also maintains a substantial photographic archive related to Titanic and the White Star Line.
The society’s work is shared through The Titanic Commutator, its quarterly journal, published continuously since its beginnings and now available digitally, with selected print back issues offered through the Museum Store. Members receive the digital publication and can explore articles, historical accounts, reviews, and archival material. THS also operates the Titanic Museum in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts, featuring rare artifacts and documents donated by survivors, and offers a museum shop online and in person.
