TJ Libeň

Tělovýchovná jednota Libeňský ostrov is a sports association based at Libeňský ostrov in Prague, focused on promoting an active, healthy lifestyle and enthusiasm for water activities. It helps children and young athletes develop skills in water sports and teamwork, while welcoming adult members as well. Members regularly take part in competitions organized by the Czech Water Motor Sports Association, of which the club is a member.

The association operates from a boathouse on the Vltava that has been part of Prague’s riverside character since the 1950s. Its collection of historic boats makes the facility distinctive, and its past reflects the changing life of the harbor and its community. The club also organizes activities and events, including children’s days, seasonal gatherings, volunteer work and “lighthouse” events. A lighthouse on the island, built by members of the local water motorist club, is a notable feature of the area.

The association’s activities and events receive financial support from Prague 8, which helps sustain its work with members and young people.
