Transitional Justice Working Group (TJWG) is a non-profit human rights organization established in Seoul in September 2014, following the release of the United Nations Commission of Inquiry (COI) report on North Korean human rights violations. TJWG focuses on the realization of transitional justice, which encompasses truth, justice, reparations, prevention, and reconciliation. Throughout history, societies undergoing transition have taught us several lessons: first, delaying action during transitional periods can lead to missed opportunities; second, justice and reconciliation are impossible without truth; and third, the voices and needs of victims and their families must be prioritized when formulating transitional policies.

TJWG aims to promote these principles through various activities, such as conducting investigations and documentation to hold perpetrators accountable and supporting victims, organizing educational events and publications to enhance understanding of transitional justice, and fostering collaboration with international organizations, judicial bodies, human rights advocates, and victim groups. By applying the lessons learned from global transitional cases, TJWG strives to prepare for the future transition in North Korea and contribute to promoting justice and human rights worldwide
