Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do Institute is a martial arts school founded in 1974 by Grand Master Jae H. Kim and based in the Boston area. Known for its Taekwon-do instruction and international community, the institute operates 46 schools across the United States, Singapore, South Korea, Ireland, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Its Boston-area locations include Boston, Cambridge, Quincy, and Ashland.
The institute offers adult and children’s classes, welcoming beginners as well as students experienced in Karate, Judo, Kung Fu, and other martial arts. Continuous enrollment allows students to begin at any time, and new students receive individual introductory lessons so they can learn at their own pace. Classes serve interests including fitness and self-defense, and prospective students are welcome to observe a class.
The school is particularly recognized for traditional Taekwon-do Forms and Patterns, as well as Full Range Sparring, which combines striking and grappling techniques. Grand Master Kim’s teaching draws on Western university studies and expertise developed through Taekwon-do traditions in the East.
