The Martial Arts Center is a family-owned martial arts school in Shawnee, Oklahoma, serving the community since 1994. It teaches Taekwondo alongside techniques from other martial arts, with a focus on practical self-defense, fitness, and personal development. Classes welcome students from age five through adulthood, including families training together.
Programs include Lil’ Ninjas for young children, a Basics Class covering foundational Taekwondo skills, and teen and adult training in self-defense, sparring, and forms. The Family Class lets parents and children train side by side, while Tai Chi offers low-impact movement to support balance, posture, and flexibility. Instruction is adapted to students’ ages, ranks, and individual needs, in a safe and encouraging environment.
Led by owner and head instructor Robbie Catchings, a fourth-dan Taekwondo practitioner, the school aims to help students develop confidence, focus, respect, self-control, and motivation. The Martial Arts Center offers a free introductory week and states that it has no contracts or testing fees. It is located at 1529 N Tucker Avenue in Shawnee.
