Tamil Nadu Dental Council (TNDC) is a statutory body established under The Dentists Act, 1948, dedicated to registering dentists and regulating the dental profession in Tamil Nadu. With a rich history dating back to its inauguration in October 1952, TNDC oversees 16 recognized dental colleges in the state. As of March 31, 2012, TNDC has registered 15,936 dentists, including 1962 with MDS qualifications, as well as 606 Dental Hygienists and 959 Dental Mechanics.
The State Dental Council, comprised of elected dentists, college principals, and government officials, governs TNDC's operations. Continuing Dental Education Regulations ensure dentists stay current in their field. Led by Dr.
