Triglavski narodni park je edini narodni park v Sloveniji. Obsega 840 kvadratnih kilometrov, kar je štiri odstotke površine Slovenije. Spada med najstarejše evropske parke; prvo varovanje sega v leto 1924, ko je bil ustanovljen Alpski varstveni park. Občine v parku: Bovec (30,1 %), Bohinj (26,3 %), Kranjska Gora (16,9 %), Bled (1,8 %), Tolmin (8,4 %), Kobarid (3,7 %) Gorje (12,7 %) in Jesenice (0,1 %).
