About TOCKEM
TOCKEM is a Cameroon non-profit association that has been utilizing tourism as a tool for development, meeting people, and fostering exchanges since 2001. They contribute 10% of the revenue generated by their activities to community projects established in the village of Ntsingbeu, focusing on areas such as healthcare, education, and access to clean water. With their mission to encourage, support, and drive local community development initiatives, TOCKEM aims to improve health conditions, enhance learning environments for children, promote sustainable local development that benefits vulnerable populations, and utilize solidarity tourism as a means of fostering local development.
TOCKEM's activities encompass various areas, including health, education, water and sanitation, waste management, agriculture, and solidarity tourism. Additionally, TOCKEM has partnered with ELANS to establish an integrated, equitable, and sustainable tourism center, aimed at using tourism as a development tool to stimulate economic activities and create employment opportunities, thereby curbing rural exodus. Furthermore, TOCKEM is led by Dr.
Pierre-Marie METANGMO, an active Cameroonian expert with a deep commitment to international development and poverty alleviation. As the traditional chief of Ntsingbeu, Dr. Metangmo has successfully integrated modernity while remaining rooted in his village and actively engaged in the development of his country.
