Tomatfestivalen is a community festival held on Finnøy in Ryfylke, bringing together families, local businesses, growers, politicians and visitors for activities celebrating the area and its tomato production. For more than 20 years, the festival has offered opportunities to enjoy local produce, meet businesses and take part in events for all ages. Entry to the festival area is free.
The programme includes a market day with exhibitors, gardeners, local products and activities, as well as food stands, giveaways, a quiz, children’s disco and other entertainment. The festival also organises Startskuddet, an activity trail featuring healthy food for pupils at Finnøy School, and a dedicated agricultural meeting for people across the farming sector. The 2026 agricultural meeting is scheduled for 19 August at Arena Utsyn, with the theme “Our food production – preparedness in practice.” The festival’s events are planned for August 2026, with the market day taking place on 22 August in Judaberg.
