Agroforestry Systems is a brand that plays a critical role in the UN Global Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Their focus is on cocoa, coffee, and rubber agroforestry systems and understanding their contribution to the wellbeing of people and the environment. Agroforestry systems, primarily farmed by smallholders, enhance climate resilience, maintain biodiversity conservation, and secure rural livelihoods.

Despite significant research in agroforestry, there is a need for integration of data and questions across multiple geographies to address the pressing questions surrounding these systems' scalability and benefits. In response, Agroforestry Systems launched the Global Agroforestry Network in 2020, promoting multidisciplinary work to better understand agroforestry systems and explore agroecological production strategies for sustainable cocoa, coffee, and rubber production. Manuel Toledo-Hernández leads the network's coordination. The brand is involved in various projects, such as investigating cocoa pollination's environmental and social benefits using computer vision-based monitoring devices and mapping global cocoa and coffee agroforestry systems.
