KVH Tommy & Yankee z. s. is a military history association based in Plzeň, Czech Republic, focused on the Second World War, particularly the Western Allied forces. Through living history and historically accurate reenactment, its members portray selected Allied units and help the public understand the experiences and conditions of wartime soldiers. The association participates in and helps organize battle reenactments and commemorative ceremonies, and presents exhibitions of period uniforms, equipment, weapons and other military artefacts. It also works with military history groups and institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The association’s projects combine public events with research and education. Plzeň 1945 brings a military-history programme to the city’s annual Liberation Festival, while Men of the 2nd Infantry Division researches the history and wartime stories of members of the US Army division. Back to 1945 is a themed social and cultural event for reenactors and history enthusiasts. The organization also offers an interactive encyclopedia of US Army uniforms and equipment from the Second World War, alongside historical articles, veteran stories, exhibitions, talks and public demonstrations.
