Tom Plouf is a French diving club that has welcomed divers with varied needs since 1999, bringing together people with disabilities, seniors, young people and able-bodied participants to share the underwater world. Its small, “Able-bodied–Disabled” labelled structure adapts equipment and teaching to each diver, with safety, enjoyment and conviviality at the heart of its approach. The club aims to foster inclusion above and below the water, develop diver autonomy and share its HandiSub teaching experience with other clubs. Affiliated with the FFESSM and FFH, it also works with the FFSA to welcome people with intellectual disabilities or behavioural challenges.
Tom Plouf offers introductory dives and training for divers with disabilities and for instructors seeking adaptive teaching skills. Its youth programme covers mask, snorkel and fins for younger children, then progressive scuba qualifications from age eight. General diving courses include Levels 1 and 2, taught year-round in pools, a diving pit and the sea.
