Tongriem Praktijk

Tongriem Praktijk is a specialist clinic in Eindhoven and Nijmegen focused on tongue-tie problems in babies up to nine months old. The practice helps parents and referring professionals assess whether a baby’s tongue-tie may be contributing to feeding difficulties, and whether treatment is appropriate. It also assesses and, when needed, treats lip-tie concerns.

Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team that includes a dentist specialising in tongue-tie issues and seven lactation consultants. Assessment combines an examination of the mouth and tongue function with observation of a feeding session. The team considers non-surgical options first; surgery is not the default, and parents make the final decision if a procedure is recommended.

The clinic’s care goes beyond the brief tongue-tie release itself. Support includes feeding guidance around treatment, feeding the baby immediately afterward, and a follow-up visit about a week later to review healing and discuss ways to support tongue movement. Appointments are available at the Nijmegen clinic on Wednesdays and Thursdays and in Eindhoven on Fridays.
