About Tonko House
Dice Tsutsumi, co-founder of Tonko House, is a renowned filmmaker and painter who has brought his unique artistic vision to the world of animation. With a background at Pixar Animation Studios, where he worked on beloved films like Toy Story 3 and Monsters University, Tsutsumi has a wealth of experience in visual development and color key artistry. In 2014, Tsutsumi and his collaborator Robert Kondo founded Tonko House with the aim of continuing their artistic journey and sharing their stories with the world.
Their debut project, The Dam Keeper, a beautiful and emotional 18-minute film, garnered an Academy Award nomination and showcased their immense talent for storytelling. Today, Tonko House is a Berkeley-based studio that aims to inspire curiosity through stories that entertain and raise awareness for people of all ages. Their projects include a highly anticipated event series titled ONI: Thunder God's Tale, as well as a charming bedtime read-aloud book called Curiosities in partnership with First Second Books.
