Top Shelf Hockey

Top Shelf Sports & Hockey is a hockey development organization based in Ames, Iowa, offering on-ice and off-ice programs for young athletes. Its training options include skating and skills development clinics, a Fall Development Series, a High Performance Series, Summer AAA Hockey, and a Sniper School focused on shooting and stickhandling. Off-ice offerings include strength and conditioning, plus athletic performance training in speed, strength, and agility. Players and families can register online, submit player profiles, and explore coach lineups through the organization’s website.

Top Shelf’s approach emphasizes enjoyment, personal growth, and determined competition rather than defining success solely by wins. The organization encourages athletes to challenge themselves, build confidence, and improve their performance through focused work. It also values qualities beyond athletic ability, including being a strong student, a positive teammate, a committed player, and a good listener. Top Shelf presents leadership as something developed through effort and a commitment to doing one’s best.
