TOPS Malibu is a brand that offers a wide range of vintage-inspired party gifts, surprises, and décor. Founded by Judy Walker, it all started in the 1980s when Judy and her husband decided to start a gallery showcasing functional art made by their artist friends. Their first hit product was the sterling silver bubbler necklace that Madonna and Larry Hagman popularized.
They then came up with another hit product, the Good Fortune Candles®, which featured fortune capsules with hidden messages, charms, and gems. This product was a success and picked up by renowned stores. As trends changed, Judy wanted to create a new experience that would create lasting memories.
That's when she introduced surprise balls, a 1950s tradition where you unwind a ball of colorful crepe ribbon to discover gifts hidden in each layer. These surprise balls were loved by both adults and kids, becoming a hit at various events. Later on, TOPS Malibu expanded its product range to include games, piñatas, sparklers, and more.
