Toronto Green Community

Toronto Green Community is a Toronto-based organization that engages residents in environmental initiatives where they live, work and play. Its programs connect people with the city’s natural and built heritage while encouraging more sustainable, nature-connected communities. Through Lost Rivers, the organization leads walking tours that trace streams obscured by urban development, helping participants explore Toronto’s waterways, heritage and relationship with water.

Rivers Rising shares stories of the city’s lost rivers alongside the experiences of Indigenous and newcomer communities, and promotes connections with nature, one another and the past. The community garden offers a place to grow heritage flowers and vegetables and native plants, while learning, sharing and appreciating nature in the city.
