TOSHIDO

Toshido Hagen e.V. is a Jiu-Jitsu sports club based in Hagen, Germany, with more than 35 years of experience practicing and sharing the martial art. Its focus is Jiu-Jitsu, a discipline whose name is commonly translated as “the gentle art” and which teaches unarmed people to defend themselves against armed or unarmed attackers. The club presents the art as rooted in the fighting traditions of samurai in historic Japan, who needed to be able to fight even when disarmed.

Toshido Hagen welcomes people interested in taking up the sport and invites prospective members to attend a trial training session. Its website provides information about Jiu-Jitsu, the club, beginner guidance, training times, directions and membership fees. It also serves as a platform for club news and a record of activities, including reports on seminars and grading examinations. Recent updates include belt examinations and the senior instructors’ promotions to eighth dan. Through its training and member activities, Toshido Hagen offers a local setting for learning and practicing Jiu-Jitsu.
