TOSINE

Tosine ry is the subject association for history students at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Run by students, it brings together history students and supports them throughout university life, from orientation and the first weeks of study to academic advocacy and social activities. The association’s tutors help newcomers get to know the university, campus, and fellow students, while its elected board and officers coordinate events, communications, and member support. Tosine works to foster an inclusive, welcoming community, with published guidance on equality, safer spaces, and handling concerns at events.

Members can take part in a varied calendar of gatherings, including freshman activities, sitsit dinners, excursions, cultural events, sports, and the association’s annual anniversary celebration. Tosine also represents student interests through education and social policy advocacy and provides peer support related to studies. Its Tone student room offers a shared place to spend time, and the association maintains resources such as a student mailing list, member benefits, and information for new students.
