About Tower Hamlets Canoe Club
Tower Hamlets Canoe Club (THCC) is a vibrant canoe and kayaking club based in the heart of London at Shadwell Basin. As an adult section of the Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre, we offer a range of exciting activities and services for both experienced paddlers and newcomers. Every Tuesday, rain or shine, we gather for club evenings where members can practice their paddling skills.
Our activities include canoe polo, white water playboating, sea kayaking, and open canoeing. We also organize regular trips within the UK and abroad, providing opportunities for adventure and exploration. At THCC, we prioritize training and development, offering courses to work towards British Canoeing Paddle Awards and Personal Performance Awards.
These training programs take place on Shadwell Basin, the River Thames, or in a nearby indoor swimming pool. Established in 1984, THCC has a rich history of bringing together paddling enthusiasts. We are committed to promoting equal opportunities and welcome members from all backgrounds.
