Town Hall Theatre

Town Hall Theatre is a renowned brand that offers a wide range of theatrical experiences and educational programs. Located in Lafayette, California, Town Hall Education is the education department of Town Hall Theatre Company. Their mission is to empower an ensemble of storytellers to connect, empathize, and commit.

Town Hall Education provides process-based, high-quality, and engaging theatrical experiences for students of all ages. They believe in the power of theatre education to teach valuable lessons that can be applied in everyday life, such as creating connections, empathy, and trust. Their classes create a safe environment for students to grow and build their voice through theatrical expression.

When students come to class at Town Hall, they can expect a warm-up session to prepare them for the class activities, which can range from creating, acting, singing, to dancing. In performance-based classes, students also learn valuable theatrical skills and prepare for their productions. To ensure a successful learning environment, students are advised to come to class in appropriate, comfortable clothing and bring a pencil, something to write in, and any required class materials.

A light snack and a reusable water bottle are also recommended. Town Hall Education understands that class availability can be limited, so they operate a waitlist on a first-come-first-served basis. Students can sign up for the waitlist by filling out the registration form.

Casting for shows at Town Hall is done with the students' learning experience in mind. Teaching artists consider the skills each student needs to work on and assign roles that will help them master those skills. Students are encouraged to set goals and work on specific skills during the class.

In case of illness or family emergencies, parents can directly contact the teaching artist or call the production office. Town Hall Education is dedicated to providing professional teaching artists and ensuring the necessary resources, such as props, costumes, and performance rights. Town Hall Studio, where the classes take place, is located at 83 Lafayette Circle, Lafayette, CA 94549.

As for performances, purchasing tickets is required as the educational program needs to acquire performance rights and cover facility costs. Tuition alone does not cover these expenses. Town Hall Education offers payment plans and scholarships to accommodate financial situations.

Payment plans must be arranged before the first class, and scholarship requests should be submitted before the start of any class. The brand's teaching artists, including Aero England and Ashley Rae Little, are experienced professionals who are passionate about theatre and dedicated to enhancing students' learning and performance skills. Join Town Hall Education to be part of a strong and welcoming community, where the power of theatre education can transform lives and foster creativity
