About TPS
The Tasmanian Philatelic Society (TPS), established in 1900 and based in Hobart, Tasmania, is a vibrant community dedicated to stamp collecting and the study of Tasmanian postal history. Catering to both local collectors and international enthusiasts, TPS offers a wealth of resources including free reference articles, archival documents, and publications detailing Tasmanian postal marks and history.
Members benefit from access to a substantial philatelic library, useful tools like watermark detectors, and opportunities to buy or sell items through exchange sheets. Monthly meetings provide members with engaging displays on various philatelic topics and foster a space for collaboration and knowledge sharing. The society's official publication, "The Courier," keeps both local and overseas members updated with relevant news and specialized articles.
With a commitment to enriching Tasmanian philately, TPS also hosts an array of events, including exhibitions, and maintains an active online discussion forum, ensuring members stay connected and informed about the ever-evolving world of stamp collecting.
